Our management team work mobile between projects, between visiting clients, managing operations and providing quotations for new projects. We are based in Hayling Island and cover all surrounding areas including Portsmouth to Southampton, Petersfield and Chichester.

Sam

Director & Project Builder

Sam began his career as an apprentice wooden boat builder (shipwright), inspired by his childhood spent watching his father rebuild a Thames sprit sailing barge. After transitioning into sales and procurement for the American company Navtec, where he headed the UK operations, Sam realized his true passion lay in hands-on work. In 2014, he returned to his roots, trading the corporate world for the tools, and founded Calico to pursue his love for craftsmanship and creation.

Gemma

Operations & Office

Gemma, with a background as a nursery nurse and administrator, excels in her role thanks to her exceptional communication skills and organizational prowess. Her experience in early childhood education has equipped her with patience and empathy, making her great on the phone, while her administrative skills ensure she is a fantastic organizer, adept at managing tasks efficiently and effectively.

Vic (Wojciech)

Buildings & Maintenance

Wojciech (Vic), a seasoned painter and decorator with over 20 years of experience, joined Calico with a steadfast commitment to excellence. His meticulous craft has honed his eye for detail and dedication to perfection. Known for his steady demeanor, Wojciech ensures high-quality results and a calm, productive work environment. His exceptional taste and extensive knowledge of finishing techniques consistently amaze our clients.
